Seattle Reading (Very) On; Portland Reading Off

Oh dear. The bookstore x'd my upcoming Portland reading with Elizabeth Colen and Emily Kendal Frey on Nov. 5th.

This is sad news, because so many folks expressed an interest in the event. We're trying to reschedule, so stay tuned.

The Seattle reading remains very much on, however: Thursday, November 12th, at the Ballard Branch of the Seattle Public Library, from 6-8pm. I'm on the bill with Elizabeth Colen and Jeremy Halinen.

Hope to see you there!

50 Gay And Lesbian Books Everybody Must Read

50 Gay And Lesbian Books Everybody Must Read
is a new anthology from Alyson Books, edited by
Richard Canning. It's a fantastic, unique collection, not focused on
canonical works, but on overlooked and unusual texts. Each essay is
written by a writer, editor, or publisher, describing their reaction
to a text that made a difference for them.

I've got a piece in the collection, focused on teaching
GLBT Studies to undergraduates, and specifically
on Rebecca Brown's novel The Terrible Girls.
